Privacy notice

This site is run by me, Ella Feltus, a sole trader offering maths tutoring. This notice explains what information I collect when you get in touch, why, and what happens to it. I have tried to keep it short and in plain English.

What I collect

When you use the enquiry form, I collect your name, your email address, the topic you choose from the menu, and whatever you write in the message box. I ask for your child's year group, but not their full name or date of birth, and I suggest you leave those out.

If you email me directly instead, I hold whatever you choose to include in that email. If your child goes on to have lessons with me, I also keep the practical details needed to run them: their first name, year group and exam board, the topics we are working on, session dates, and payment records.

Why I collect it

I use this information to reply to your enquiry, to arrange and deliver lessons, and to keep the records a small business has to keep. Under UK data protection law the basis for this is my legitimate interest in responding to people who contact me, and, once lessons begin, the agreement between us. I do not use your details for marketing and I will not add you to any mailing list.

Where it goes

The form is handled by this site's own code running on Cloudflare, the company that hosts the site. What you type is emailed straight to my inbox and is not stored in a database or anywhere else on the site. My email is provided by Google (Gmail), so your message is held there, in the same way as any email you send me.

The form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to block spam. Turnstile may process your browser details and IP address for that purpose only; see Cloudflare's privacy policy. Beyond Cloudflare and Google acting as service providers, I do not share your information with anyone, and I never sell it.

Cookies

This site does not set cookies of its own and does not use analytics or tracking. The Turnstile spam check may set a short-lived cookie of its own while it runs.

How long I keep it

• Enquiries that do not lead to lessons: deleted within six months of my last reply.
• Records for current students: kept while lessons continue, then deleted twelve months after they stop.
• Payment records: kept for six years after the end of the tax year, as HMRC requires.

Children's information

I tutor children, so some of what I hold is about them. I only collect what I need to teach well, I ask parents and carers to keep identifying details to a minimum, and I expect all contact about lessons to come from a parent or carer rather than the child directly.

Your rights

You can ask me at any time to see the information I hold about you or your child, to correct it, or to delete it. Email ellafeltusmaths@gmail.com and I will respond within a month. If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Changes

If I change how I handle information, I will update this page and the date at the top.
